I am proud to say that Integricity has never been a wasteful company. We have been able to achieve this because we advocate automation, streamlining business processes and constantly doing more with less. With this sort of concept embedded into our corporate culture, we have successfully minimized our waste and optimized the use of the resources which we consume.
A few weeks ago, I watched an award-winning documentary called An Inconvenient Truth. I highly recommend it. It was about our planet; our planet Earth. The place we call home. The documentary got me thinking and researching a little more into environment-related topics. I familiarized myself with the concepts of carbon credits, carbon footprints, renewable energy and so on.
From my reading, I was shocked to find out that the world has reached a point in which it can no longer renew or replenish its resources quickly enough. At this point in time, the World Overshoot Day is 9 October 2006. This means that it now takes more than one year and three months for the Earth to regenerate what we use in a single year. It is expected that the World Overshoot Day will keep jumping back if we continue to consume at this rate. If this trend continues, the end of the world as we know it will be within sight.
It dawned on me that not being wasteful is NOT enough. We are not doing enough for Mother Nature. I am not doing enough, Integricity is not doing enough. There are so many other things which we need to do to reverse the downward spiraling effect of our voracious appetite to consume natural resources.
As much as I would like to strip down to my boxers and wear a sandwich board which says “Save Mother Nature”; I do believe that people all around me will instantly think I have lost my marbles. As such, I have had to bottle my enthusiasm so that I am able to communicate my thoughts in a rational and structured manner that people understand and accept.
My colleagues and I recently discussed the topic over an extended lunch. My message to them was to address environmental issues with a holistic and rational approach. I explained to them although it makes common sense to switch to energy saving bulbs but not everyone can afford them. Therefore they need to look at each case from a broader perspective. Sometimes, doing the right thing will cost more but the good news is that there are many other things we can do that do not cost us anything. All it takes is a bit of will power and the willingness to inconvenience ourselves. Use your own reusable containers to pack food (avoid disposable Styrofoam and plastic containers) and refuse small plastic bags when you purchase small items. Actions such as these do not cost you more in dollars and cents.
Integricity is committed to doing more. Some energy saving ideas have already been implemented. To my colleagues: thank you, keep up the good work, do not lose steam and keep thinking of ways we can achieve more with less. To everyone else I would like to assure you that Integricity will do its very best for Mother Nature.
Many people wake up every morning questioning the meaning of life and their purpose on this planet. If we do not implement immediate remedial action, the apocalypse will soon be upon us and then there will be no need to ask those questions. After all what is the point to anything if we do not have a secure, wholesome and enjoyable existence on this planet?
Go GREEN!
Fanatically yours,

Jek Tan
Operations Director

Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you about the introduction of a system enhancement to our PLESK-range shared hosting servers.
As some customers on our PLESK-range shared hosting servers have abused the quota allocations, we have no choice but to be implement stricter rules on all hosting accounts on these servers. This is to ensure the shared resources are never abused by any one single party and that the essence of a shared environment prevails. Please note that this is a necessary action for us to improve our quality of service to customers and to allow the server to perform at its optimal within a shared hosting environment.
Effective 1 May 2007, the following changes will take place:
- Every morning, any hosting account which exceeds its subscribed quota will have its email services suspended instantly without further notice.
- To have email services restored, customers are required to launch a Support Ticket at FanaticalService.com.
If you have problems logging in to FanaticalService.com, click here.
Platinum Hosting customers may call the support line to speak to our Fanatical Service Team.
- After services have resumed, customers are required to reduce their hosting account utilization by removing web data files or downloading emails from the server.
No further action is required if the hosting account remains within the subscribed quota.
- If the hosting account still exceeds the subscribed quota the following morning, points 1 to 3 (above) will be repeated.
If you do not know how to or have never logged into your PLESK Administrative Control Panel, we would like to encourage you to take advantage of this period to retrieve passwords, update personal information, familiarize yourself with the PLESK control panel or to clarify any issues with our Fanatical Service Team.
We look forward to assisting you in any way that we can to make this transition a seamless one for you and your organization. Please feel free to contact us at www.fanaticalservice.com for more information.
| Please be informed that between now until the end of 30 April 2007, we will send two more email reminders to remind all customers to monitor their hosting account utilizations in order to avoid any unnecessary service disruptions. |
